CBT is a type of therapeutic treatment that will help you understand the thoughts and feelings that influence your behaviour. CBT is generally short term and focuses on a specific problem. The goal of CBT is to teach you that while you cannot control every aspect of your life, you can still take control of how you interpret it and deal with things in your environment.
Some of the strategies used in CBT are psycho-education (learning about anxiety), Relaxation strategies (Deep breathing, Progressive muscular relaxation), Realistic thinking ,(replacing unrealistic unhelpful thought and replacing them with more balanced realistic thoughts) Exposure techniques and relapse prevention.
